Georgetown Loop Railroad's No. 40
visits the Colorado Railroad Museum

During a February 2002 visit to Colorado, I found the Georgetown Loop Railroad's narrow-gauge 2-8-0 No. 40, in steam at the Colorado Railroad Museum, in Golden. No. 40 was on her way back to the Georgetown Loop after spending a year on loan to the White Pass and Yukon. The locomotive is an oil-burning 1921 Baldwin product with an outside frame. She was built for the Guatemala Railway Co. Here she is backing into the museum's roundhouse. Movie No. 40 on the museum's loop (2.2 MB Quicktime movie.
